Taylor Swift, in full Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13th, 1989 West Reading Pennsylvania U.S.) American pop and country music singer and songwriter, whose stories of young heartache achieved widespread success in the early 21st century. Swift started to exhibit an enthusiasm for the industry of music as early as age. Swift's career grew rapidly through the play of kids and her first public appearance crowds of people. Swift was 11 years old when she first performed The Star-Spangled Banner at a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game. The following year Swift began to write songs and picked up the guitar. Swift composed original music that was inspired by country performers such as Shania Twain (now known as the Chicks) as well as Dixie Chicks. Her material reflected Swift's experiences with tweens being apathetic. Swift left Pennsylvania along with her parents to Hendersonville, Tennessee when she was 13 years old to dedicate more time to contacting the country music labels.
